Semester System & Academic Schedule

Our academic year operates under the official two-semester credit system of Chulalongkorn University, structured to maximize learning and research depth.

Two regular semesters plus an optional summer session

Academic Calendar Structure

Each regular semester spans 16 weeks of intensive lectures, computational laboratory sessions, and project milestone reviews:

Semester 1 (Aug – Dec)

First Semester (Fall)

Commences in August and concludes in December. Covers 16 instructional weeks including midterm and final evaluation periods.

Duration: 16 Weeks
Semester 2 (Jan – May)

Second Semester (Spring)

Commences in January and concludes in May. Features intensive capstone project developments and hackathon showcases.

Duration: 16 Weeks
Summer (Jun – Jul)

Summer Session (Optional)

Held from June to July (6–8 weeks). Dedicated to international summer exchange programs, intensive research internships, or accelerated coursework.

Duration: 6–8 Weeks

Credit System & Study Load Regulations

Regulations governing student enrollment, minimum and maximum credit loads per semester:

9 – 22 Credits / Sem
Undergraduate students are generally required to enroll in a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 22 credits per regular semester.
Max 6 Credits
Students may enroll in up to 6 credits during the summer session to conduct research or fulfill specialized electives.
124 Credits Total
Completion of a minimum of 124 credits across General Education (24), Specialization (94), and Free Electives (6) with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.
